This was the first time I'd seen Heather Lake in winter. It was a gorgeous Saturday and Drew, Terry, and I got a good workout.

We headed to Stevens Pass to take advantage of sunny weather and fresh snow. Fog overtook us just as we approached our lunch destination so we missed the views. However the fog gave the scene an ethereal quality which was quite interesting. Snow conditions were perfect.

Crater Lake NP - February 2, 2011

The weather could only be described as perfect for our day at the Lake. The water was perfectly flat to catch the reflections. We had the place pretty much to ourselves on our walk out along the rim. The snow accumulation was significantly less than normal after unseasonably warm weather.

Central Oregon - January 29 thru February 5, 2011

Kay and I had a very pleasant week relaxing in Central Oregon. We did a bit of snowshoeing and a lot of reading and hanging out in our cabin. The highlight was our day trip to Crater Lake NP ( see next post)
