Eightmile Lake - May 26, 2013

The snow leaves the eastern slopes earlier giving Sat and I the opportunity to enjoy an early season hike to an alpine Lake. The Eightmile trail was heavily impacted by fire in the 1990s and again last year (2012). It is a sobering study in the devastation that fire can bring and of the resilience of nature in repairing it.

State Creek Meadows - May 8, 2013

We enjoyed warm spring sunshine and a stunning views of North Cascade peaks for our last snowshoe of the season. Everyone enjoyed the leisurely journey through the meadows.
