Ancient Lakes - March 19, 2018

It was the last day of winter but felt much more like Spring. Sunny skies, perfect temperatures, and no wind made for a great day to share this gem With Michael and Kathy who were seeing it for the first time. Massive lava flows which covered this area over a ten million year period and the more recent Ice Age Floods were the major geologic events that formed this unique area.

The basalt cliffs had many fascinating designs.

White Salmon Ridge - March 2, 2018

It was snowing the whole time and we had to break trail for the majority of the distance but no one seemed to mind. It was truly a winter wonderland. It was a fun assemblage of snowshoers as well; so we got to make some new friends.

We laid a nice track for those who would follow us the next day.
