Colockum Wildlife Refuge - March 26, 2019

It was too early for wild flowers and we didn't see any animals, but warm sun and blue skies made it a delightful day to explore the desert steppe environment along the Columbia River.

Michael Kathy and I pondering the best way to cross a creek.
A couple of stream crossings added an element of interest to the day.

 Kay enjoyed her lunch spot.

Where to cross?

McGlinn Island - March 20, 2019

This rocky outcrop forming the south side of the southern entrance to the Swinomish Slough has interesting views over the Mouth of the Skagit River, Goat Island, and the "Whole in the Wall".
Ika Island and the Swinomish Channel Jetty

This was a delightfully warm first day of Spring.

White Salmon Ridge - March 6, 2019

Everyone enjoyed walking in the falling snow. Strangely that doesn't occur that often on our snowshoe outings.

Everyone was having a good time.

Mt. Shuksan appeared for a while.

 Classy footwear.

Heading back to the car.

Lake Wenatchee State Park, North - February 28, 2019

It was a stunningly beautiful outing again this day, yet very different from our Icicle River snowshoe a couple of days before. Instead of the sound of water rushing over rocks it was a "big" silence on a perfectly calm day. We also had brilliant sunlight and deep blue skies. The constants were good snow and great friends.

Kathy, Kay, and Michael are all smiles enjoying the sun.
