Orchard Snowshoe - December 30, 2022

One of the many pleasures afforded by the our Leavenworth home is the ability to snowshoe right out the back door and into the pear orchards adjacent to our property. Sat, Manju, and I enjoyed such an outing in excellent snow conditions.

Washington Park Snowshoe - December 20, 2022

Kay and I took advantage of a relatively rare opportunity to enjoy Washington Park covered in snow. We were able to snowshoe from the house. It's magical to see this familiar haunt transformed in white.

Cattle Point, South Beach Loop - October 29, 2022

The windswept, rocky, and open terrain of American Camp, open to the large expanse of the Strait of Juan de Fuca and the Olympic Mountains, is a dramatic contrast to the bucolic,  peaceful feel of the rest of San Juan Island.

San Juan County Park - October 28, 2022

This lovely park on the west side Of San Juan Island is situated on Smallpox Bay. The name is a dark reminder of the burning of native corpses; victims of that terrible disease in the nineteenth century.
