Northwest Pass - August 25, 2022

Kay joined me for a morning paddle after I finished my monthly kelp survey. Perfect water conditions, a mysterious fog, and some active harbor porpoises were the highlights.

Chuckanut Bay, North - August 23, 2022

I enjoyed sharing this magnificent sandstone sculpture garden with Brian. It was a piece of Bellingham he had not had the opportunity to see previously.

Sunset Beach - August 17, 2022

Kay and I enjoyed an after dinner paddle from Sunset Beach for no other reason than to watch one. We are so blessed to be able to live in a place where we can do something like this on the spur of the moment.

Kay and I rafted up to watch the sun slip below the horizon.

Mt. Baker came into view as we approached Shannon Point.

We enjoyed the silhouette Washington Park's iconic tree against the fading light.

Craft Island - August 8, 2022

Craft Island is a unique hike as it combines a lovely tidal marsh, miles of mudflat, and a small island rocky bald overlooking it all. The day was perfect, weather wise.

The North Fork Skagit empties into Skagit Bay at this location.

There are miles of walking at low tide.

Everyone is all smiles on a gorgeous summer day
