Watmough Bay Paddle - July 19, 2024

 It had been 12 years since Kay and I last paddled in this special part of Lopez. It felt good to be back. It was also our second paddle of the week; something we haven't done in a long while.

Fidalgo Head Paddle - July 17, 2024

It was a beautiful summer evening for an after dinner Paddle. Kay and I were joined by Peter Strong on his paddle board for a one way paddle from Sunset Beach to Tug Boat Park. We are so fortunate to have great paddle opportunities in our own back yard.

 

Red Top Lookout - July 5, 2024

 I have had this hike on my list for some time. I finally did it with Sat when we were over at the lodge together. The road was not half as bad as I anticipated and the weather could not have been better for the long views. It was a great day

The Stuart Range was front and center to the North

Mt. Rainier was prominent in the south west

The top of Mt. Adams could be seen in the distance

The lichen was colorful

After descending from the lookout we hiked north on the Teanaway Ridge trail for about a mile to check it out. I'd like to come back and explore more of it.
