Leavenworth Hikes with Audubon Friends - April 2016

Kay and I enjoyed hosting some of our Wednesday friends again at our Fox Road place.

Wildflowers, heavy spring runoff, and time with friends were the highlights.

Another bluebird day for a snowshoe! We had an excellent turn-out, warm temperatures, and great snow conditions

Lanham Lake - March 16, 2016

There was a lot of fresh snow over a good base. It made for a delightful descent. The sun was out for lunch and we were able to enjoy some brief snow flurries.

It takes some longer than others to get ready.

Huntoon Point, - February 24, 2016

It was pretty close to a perfect day to do the primo snowshoe outing of our season. The snow was great and the clouds created a wonderful backdrop for the stunning alpine scenery

Hatchery Creek Road

Overcrowded parking lots at the summit and the Nordic Ski area forced us to look for an alternative. Hatchery Creek Road proved to be a worthy backup. It is a snowshoe I would definitely do again.

 Our destination was a pretty little lake a short ways off the road. It apparently is unnamed; at least it didn't have one on any of my maps.
