Camas Land, February 18, 2018

The weather was so-so and the visibility not the best but it made absolutely no difference to the Larson, Pahl, and Palmer clans who enjoyed a fun time in the snow. It was an absolutely delightful family time.

 The "pog balls" were a big hit.

It is claimed that this day set the all-time record for vehicles parked at the Mt Baker facilities. I am not surprised given the volume of humanity encountered on the route. Regardless the day was beautiful with fresh snow, sunshine, and good friends. It was a successful initial WPC snowshoe outing.

 We were in a festive mood.

 There was abundant untrammeled snow, at least in the morning.

White Salmon Ridge - January 31, 2018

The snow was fresh, deep, and untracked so it was hard work breaking trail. This was a "real" snowshoe; yet everyone seemed to appreciate and enjoy the work out. Fog kept the views close but the snow on the trees was visual stimulation enough.

Descending from the parking lot is always an interesting challenge.

Leavenworth New Year - Dec. 27, 2017 to Jan. 7, 2018

Kay and I closed out 2017 and welcomed 2018 enjoying winter white at our place in Leavenworth. The time was shared with good friends, old and new. We relaxed, read, played games, snowshoed, and shared good food and fellowship.

 We snowshoed the orchard and cemetery a number of times including by moonlight. It's a magical place when covered in snow.
