Glacier Bay National Park - May 22, 2019

It's hard to imagine this immense bay filled with glacial ice just a century ago. One can't but feel a sense of loss and a heightened alarm at what lies ahead with carbon induced climate change. Nevertheless this is an amazing wilderness that can't help but move you with it's beauty.

Tracey Arm National Monument, Alaska - May 21, 219

This was another magical experience and Kay my first exposure to tidewater glaciers. Words can't describe it. This is a sacred place.

 The volume of floating ice increased dramatically the further up the arm and closer to the Sawyer Glacier we got.

The zodiacs took us quite close to the glacier terminus.

Rudyerd Bay, Mysty Fjords National Monument, Alaska - May 19, 2019

This was our first stop in Alaska waters. It was stunningly beautiful and an awesome place to paddle. It was the perfect introduction to SE Alaska.

There wasn't much mist in the Fjord but that was more than OK with us.

 It was Kay and my kind of water.
