It had been 14 years since Kay and I had hiked this trail. The views were still as great as I remembered.

A curious goat watched us from a field adjacent to the trail.

Spencer Spit - June 7, 2025

 After a great paddle and delicious dinner prepared by Michael we took an evening stroll at Spencer Spit State Park.

 The next day we paddled the north shore of MacKaye Harbor in our kayaks.

 

Fisherman Bay Preserve: the Spit - June 6,

 Kay and I were needing an island fix after our lunch outing a couple of weeks prior to Friday Harbor. So we booked a VRBO in Lopez Village and invited dear friends Michael and Kathy to join us for a few days. The first night we took a pleasant after dinner stroll in Fisherman Bay Preserve.
