Rainbow Ridge - September 1, 2010

This was my first time on Rainbow Ridge. Great views for short hike. The first mile of the trail is in rough shape but goes by quickly. The ridge is awesome. We were teased by low clouds which shrouded the surrounding peaks but allowed us brief views of the grandeur above. An encounter with two goats was the highlight (sorry no pictures). I look forward to returning on a clear day.

Chuckanut Bay - August 23, 2010

Chuckanut Bay is one of our favorite paddles because it is like travelling through a giant sculpture gallery. There are so many amazing shapes textures and subtle colors. Every time we discover something new. Throw in warm sunshine, clear skies, and water like glass and it makes it all the more magical.

Approaching Chuckanut Island

This looks like a good spot for a break.

It doesn't get any calmer than this.

We were in no great hurry returning to the launch spot.
