Mt. Lillian - July 5, 2013

This area of the Wenatchee mountains was ground zero in the massive wildfires of 2012.

Nearly two years later the cleared out understory has permitted a profusion of wildflowers which delighted Sat and I. The landscape was still beautiful but in a much different way.

A few areas were still lifeless ...

But elsewhere...

Entiat River - June 30, 2014

The name Entiat derives from a native word meaning "rapid water".  The name seemed aptly appropriate the day Kay and I explored a bit of it. It had been years since we had visited the valley. I suspect it won't be that long till we return as we both thought it was quite lovely.
