Beezley Hills - April 8, 2017

Kay and I were looking to experience Spring after a long Winter so we we headed to the Columbia Plateau to enjoy some sagebrush-steppe and hopefully some wildflowers. At first we thought we were too early as we could not notice any color other than green and there were still some patches of snow. But upon closer inspection there were many small early blooms promising a more robust display to come. This Nature Conservancy property is a gem with great views across the plateau and out to the Cascades.

Happy Creek - February 8, 2017

Abundant fresh and falling snow was the highlight of this outing. Breaking trail was hard but invigorating work.

The shapes formed by the heavy snow made interesting sculptures.

There wasn't a lot of traffic on Hwy. 20.

Big Four - January 4, 2017

It was about 10 degrees Farenheit when we began walking and was about 16 when we returned to the cars. However these temperatures didn't chill our enthusiasm for an otherwise bluebird day.

Do you think I'm enjoying myself?

Camas (Once Again) - December 29, 2016

I was here by myself 2 1/2 weeks ago. This time I returned with Kay and friends to enjoy another beautiful winter day.
