High Pass - August 21, 2013

We finally did High Pass out of Twin Lakes, a hike that has been on my radar screen for some time. It didn't disappoint. The weather was stellar, the flowers spectacular, and the company was great as usual.
Ettie enjoys the view from our lunch spot.

Terry enjoyed the hike even if he had to start at Twin Lakes.

Rainbow Ridge - August 14, 2013

Finally the bugs weren't too bad and the dry spell made this normally muddy trail more passable. Consequently we didn't mind a few rain drops

"Mormon Lakes" - August 5-7, 2013

Brian & I joined forces for a three day one way trip through the "Mormon Lakes" region of the Alpine Lakes Wilderness area. The approach up Chatter Creek was challenging but the beauty that awaited us along the western end of the Icicle Ridge trail was worth every bit of effort to get there.

Crossing Chatter Creek on the "Gerald Ford"

Taking a break at the top of the ridge.

Peek-a-boo Lake - July 31, 2013

We continued our close encounters with bugs on this hike. This was my first visit here. I think it would be quite lovely on a clear day in the fall.
