Mayne Island, Part 4 (afoot) - July 2016

Kay and I were not in the boats the whole time. The Island itself offered a number of nice trails and great beach access giving us ample areas to explore. Here is a sample.
Georgina Point Heritage Point and Lighthouse is one two parcels on the island which are part of the Gulf Islands National Park Reserve (GINPR); a relatively new addition to the Canadian National Park system.

Edith Point has a number of well maintained trails all on a large privately owned property which the owners graciously allow to be traveled

An island of about 1100 residents can't support a public transit system or a taxi service so this is how they compensate.

Mayne Island, Part 3 Bennett Bay - July 24, 2016

It was our favorite time of day and favorite kind of water. Kay and I had the perfect last evening of our paddle vacation just enjoying the bay in front of the Inn.

Mayne Island, Part 2, Campbel[ Bay - July 23, 2016

The Chuckanut sandstone formations were the highlight of this paddle. The amazing sculptures and grotesque shapes were a delight to view. It was very reminiscent of Chuckanut Bay

Goofy

Again sea stars were in relative abundance. It was heartwarming to witness their apparent comeback.

Mayne Island, Part 1: Bennett Bay to Wildcat Cove - July 21, 2016

We timed the currents to assist us on our trip to Winter Cove on Saturna Island. It was new water and Territory for us. The weather was perfect as well.
