Twin Lakes - July 6, 2016

I had done this trail just once in the past; sixteen years ago. Back then I did it on a dark and cloudy late November day with snow on the ground and sometimes swirling in the air. So, for all intents and purposes this was a new hike for both Kay and I. It was a delightful summer outing.
 The upper (bigger) Twin

Kay takes a break overlooking a marsh along the Napeequa River.

 The lower (smaller) Twin

A pleasant path through vine maple connected the two lakes.

Kay inspects the old Washington Dept. of Fish & Wildlife cabin near the big Twin.

Remains of an old fish rearing station on the big Twin.
