It had been years since Kay and I walked to Clayton Beach. It was well before the trail was rerouted and the installation of the footbridge over the railroad tracks. It is now a much nicer hiking experience. It was a bluebird day with a low tide which allowed Kay and I to explore the wonderful sandstone formations. It was magical. We capped off a great day with a late lunch at the Chuckanut Manner Restaurant.
South of the beach were remnants of the four mile, overwater, section of the old interurban railroad abandoned almost a century ago.
We had the smaller north pocket beach to ourselves.
