Leavenworth Winter Fun, Feb - March 2020

This post compiles other misc. fun times with family and friends while enjoying our Leavenworth cabin this winter. It's poignant because these were the last outings there before the Covid-19 "Stay Home, Stay Healthy" directives went into effect. We are anxious for the day when we can again gather in person, there or anywhere.

 Kathy, Michael, Kay and I enjoyed a Valentines Day at Blewett Pass on the Swuak Discovery trail.

Later that weekend we hosted the Bellingham crew and their friends the Palmers.

We enjoyed a walk along the White River in light snow flurries.

  

 March 14th I took a solo walk along Ingalls Creek. Social Distancing guidelines were already in place.

White Salmon Ridge - March 11, 2020

Clouds obscured the long views to Shuksan and other nearby peaks but no one seemed to mind. The snow was deep, the trees laden, and the camaraderie  of friends made this a magical day.

White River - February 8, 2020

There was not much snow around for the "almost annual" Larson, Samuelson, Bedford, & Glade Leavenworth snow weekend; so we drove a ways up the White River and found adequate snow for a relaxing walk along the river.

Hidden Lake - December 30, 2019

Brian, Sat and I enjoyed a pleasant time together on the Hidden Lake trail.

It was significant for me as it was the first snowshoe of the season but also the last of the year and the decade. It was great to be with old friends and to reflect on what a wonderful journey the last decade has been.

This was a blue bird Fall day and a perfect hike for a leisurely outing with the family. I had done this hike once before but it was 43 years ago!
