Camas Meadow Snowshoe - March 16, 2025

Three inches of fresh snow overnight led us to put the snowshoes on one last time and enjoy Camas meadow once more. Snow depth wasn't great but but was firm with the fresh stuff on top so it was easy walking.

There are a number of Aspen groves within the meadow.

We couldn't resist the urge to enter one of the Aspen groves. That was a mistake. the snow covered a lot of downed logs plus a creek flowed underneath making many voids and unstable snow. We'll remember this adventure.

Like always, we had fun!

 

Heart Lake - February 4, 2025

This is a local standby we do frequently but this morning it was adorned with a ight dusting of snow which transformed it into something magical. Kay and I appreciated the beauty of this area again with fresh eyes. and childlike glee.

Camas Ridge - January 25, 2025

 It was an absolutely blue bird day for this snowshoe with Peter and Doug. They were each trying out newly purchased snowshoes and they loved it.

UCSB Lagoon Walk - January 20, 2025

A beautiful beach and bluffs were the highlights of this hike. One couldn't help but envy the students on the nearby campus.
