Waikoloa Petoglyph Preserve, Hawai'i - December 14, 2025

Kay and I were fascinated exploring this lava field along the King's Highway trail near Waikoloa beach. Native Hawaiians carved these in lava rock along this old trail at a point bordering two ancient kingdoms. Carved between 1400 and 1800 AD, their significance is unclear. However newer ones use English alphabet symbols clearly done after European contact.
