Malawakena Beach, Keawaiki Hawai'i - December 11, 2025

This was a short but challenging hike to a black pebble beach along Keawaiki Bay. The rocky path went through a large lava flow. We saw no one else along the trail or on the beach which surprised us.

The beach immediately to the north was covered with bleached coral.

It was hard going along the rocky path through jagged lava.
